International Mother Language Day

International Mother Language Day

People express their emotion, thought, views and thought through language. Nations of the different counties use their respective language for this. Every nation’s respective language is called their mother tongue. Like them we have a mother tongue called Bangla. There is a glorious and revolutionary history behind it. No nation in the world who sacrificed their lives for their mother tongue except Bangalee. When the ruler of Pakistan tried to impose Urdu as the state language instead of Bangla, people of the country raised their voices against it and some of our heroic sons came forward and sacrificed their lives for mother tongue Bangla on 21 Feb 1952. Among them there were Rafique, Jabber, Salam, Barkat and other. From then we celebrate this day as Shahid Dibosh with solemnity and profound respect. Now it is glad for us that our mother tongue has got international recognition in 1999. At present every year world observes this day as international mother language day. To conclude it is to say that it is a great achievement for our nation.
